Current Systems Corporation ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting personal information collected through our platform and related services ("Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information. "Personal information" means information that identifies or could reasonably identify an individual.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

Personal & Account Information

  • Contact details provided during registration (name, email, phone number).
  • Licensing or eligibility information provided by users.

Project & Operational Data

  • Project files, documentation, and materials submitted through the platform.
  • If such data includes personal information, it is handled in accordance with this Policy.
  • We do not collect or store CE Code text, CSA copyrighted materials, or proprietary regulatory content.

Usage & Technical Information

  • Interactions with features and tools.
  • Device type, operating system, browser version, IP address, and similar technical data.

Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

Collected in aggregated form, including:

  • Page views
  • Feature usage
  • Session duration
  • Device type and performance metrics

We configure Firebase to avoid collecting personally identifiable information and do not send project data, calculator inputs, or form entries to analytics.

Payment Information

  • Processed securely by our third party payment processor (Stripe).
  • We do not store full credit card numbers.

Training & Educational Information

Where Training Services are offered, we may collect and maintain:

  • Course registration information
  • Course progress and completion status
  • Assessment, quiz, and examination results
  • Attendance and participation records
  • Certificates of completion
  • Continuing education records
  • Information required to verify eligibility for recognized training programs

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Verify eligibility for certain features where required
  • Communicate updates, notices, and support information
  • Send newsletters, product announcements, and promotional content to users who create an account or subscribe to our mailing list

  • Analyze aggregated usage patterns to improve performance and user experience

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Services.

Marketing communications

When you create an account or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and record the date and method of your consent. We use this information to send product updates, feature announcements, and occasional promotional offers. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting privacy@currentsystems.ca. We retain consent records as required by applicable anti-spam laws.

We do not analyze project data for CE Code compliance, regulatory interpretation, or authoritative determinations.

3. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We may disclose information:

  • To Stripe for payment processing
  • To Google Cloud/Firebase for hosting, storage, and operational infrastructure
  • To trusted service providers who support our operations under confidentiality obligations
  • As required by law, regulation, or to protect safety or security
  • Where required for administration of a course recognized by Technical Safety BC or another regulatory authority, limited information relating to course completion may be disclosed as required by law, regulatory requirement, audit, verification request, or applicable recognition conditions.

Service providers are contractually required to protect personal information and use it only to provide services to us.

4. Educational and Training Records

Where Training Services are provided, Current Systems Corporation may collect, store, and maintain educational records including course registrations, attendance records, assessment results, completion status, and certificates.

Where Services are provided through a Customer account, Current Systems Corporation generally acts as a service provider processing information on behalf of the Customer with respect to Customer-owned data.

These records are used solely for administering Training Services, verifying course completion, maintaining course recognition requirements, and supporting regulatory or audit obligations where applicable.

Where applicable, and subject to applicable privacy laws, certain training records may be visible to the Customer organization that enrolled the Authorized User.

Records may be retained and reviewed where reasonably necessary to support audits, accreditation reviews, course recognition reviews, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, quality assurance activities, or legal obligations.

5. Artificial Intelligence and Software Development Tools

Current Systems Corporation may utilize software development tools, including artificial intelligence-assisted development tools, as part of the creation, maintenance, testing, and improvement of the Services.

The Services do not currently use artificial intelligence to make decisions regarding licensing status, regulatory compliance, course completion, assessment results, professional qualifications, or similar determinations.

Current Systems Corporation does not use customer personal information, project data, training records, or customer submissions to train third-party artificial intelligence models used by the customer-facing Services.

If user-facing artificial intelligence features are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated to describe the collection, processing, and use of information associated with those features.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest
  • Access controls
  • Audit logging
  • Regular security assessments

Backup copies may be retained for disaster recovery for up to 30 days.

7. Data Location & Residency

We prioritize Canadian data residency and configure our systems so that operational data is stored in Canada wherever technically feasible.

  • Most platform data is stored in Canada using Canadian based infrastructure.
  • Some technical metadata processed by service providers (e.g., Google Cloud, Stripe) may be handled in other jurisdictions with adequate data protection standards.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law.

Typical retention periods:

  • Active accounts: Retained for the duration of the account
  • Inactive accounts: Deleted after 24 months of inactivity unless legal requirements require longer retention
  • Transaction records: Retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes
  • Training records, assessment results, certificates, and course completion records: Retained for 7 years unless a longer period is required by law or regulatory requirements
  • Project data: Retained according to user preferences and account status
  • Support communications: Retained for 12 months after resolution

Users may request earlier deletion where legally permissible.

9. User Rights

Individuals may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions.

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal and contractual retention requirements
  • Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information (subject to legal limits)
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications
  • Export your project data

Where an account is provided through an employer, organization, or Customer account, rights relating to account access, deletion, export, and management may be subject to the Customer's administrative controls and contractual rights.

Certain educational, training, certification, attendance, examination, or completion records may be retained notwithstanding an account deletion request where retention is necessary for contractual, legal, audit, regulatory, fraud prevention, or record-keeping purposes.

We may require identity verification before processing requests.

10. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain login sessions
  • Enhance user experience
  • Analyze usage patterns

Types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for authentication and core functionality

14. Changes to This Policy
